Compile Academy should be usable for as many people as possible. This statement is voluntary: as a small, free offering, Compile Academy does not fall under the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) in the operator’s assessment. Nevertheless, Compile Academy follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
What already works well
Compile Academy already offers these aids:
- A “Skip to content” link and keyboard operation of the website
- Labelled buttons, headings and regions for screen readers
- Less motion when your device reports “Reduce motion”, plus an automatic power-saving mode for weaker devices
- Denser, more readable glass when your system reports “Reduce transparency”
- Sounds can be switched off in the learning app settings
- Legal notice, privacy policy, terms of use and this page also work without JavaScript
- The whole platform is available in German and English
Known limitations
Compile Academy has not yet been fully tested against WCAG. Individual areas – such as animations, glass effects, interactive exercises and Studio as a code editor – may still have barriers. They are being improved step by step.
Report a barrier
If you come across a barrier, please write via the contact form or by email (see legal notice). Briefly describe where it gets stuck and which device or assistive technology you use – then it can be improved in a targeted way.
