Terms of use

These terms apply to Compile Academy – website, learning app, Studio and creative apps – offered by Leander Rothschuh (contact in the legal notice). In short: Compile Academy is free, be fair to others, and your code belongs to you.

Free and without ads

Compile Academy is free and shows no ads. Should there ever be paid features, you will be clearly informed beforehand; nothing becomes chargeable without your explicit order.

Age

Learning without an account is open to everyone. You may create an account yourself from age 16. If you are younger, you need the consent of your parents or guardians – for the AI support too.

Your account

Use an email address that belongs to you and keep your login details secret. By creating an account you accept these terms. You can delete your account on the account page at any time.

Fair rules

So that Compile Academy stays a good place for everyone, the following is not allowed:

  • offensive, hateful, violence-glorifying, sexual or otherwise illegal display names, avatars, messages or projects
  • publishing other people’s personal data or pretending to be someone else
  • writing or spreading malware, and attacks on Compile Academy, other people or the compiler services used
  • deliberately overloading Compile Academy or the compiler services, querying them automatically or bypassing security limits
  • manipulating XP, leaderboards, energy or rewards with tricks or bugs
  • copying other people’s content without permission or infringing their copyrights

If someone breaks the rules

Depending on severity, the operator may remove or change content (for example reset a display name), hide you from the leaderboard, restrict features or suspend an account temporarily or permanently. The circumstances and your legitimate interests are weighed fairly. You learn by email or in the inbox what happened and why, and can object via the contact form.

Reporting content

If you see illegal content, please report it via the contact form or by email (see legal notice). Describe as precisely as possible where the content can be found and why it is illegal. Every report is checked promptly and carefully, and you get feedback on the decision.

Your code and your content

What you write – code, projects, display name – belongs to you. You only allow Compile Academy to store, transfer and display it as far as needed for the features you use (for example sync or your display name in the leaderboard). This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

Compile Academy content

You may use Compile Academy’s lessons, texts, graphics and software for your own learning. You may freely use code examples from the lessons in your own programs. Copying or redistributing lessons as a whole is not permitted without permission.

AI support and compiler services

Koda’s answers are generated automatically by an AI; they can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them. Online runs go through third-party services (see privacy policy), whose own rules also apply. Only run your own and permitted programs there.

Availability and changes

Compile Academy is operated with care, but without a right to constant availability. Courses, features and game elements can change, appear first in test phases or pause briefly for maintenance. XP, energy, leagues, trophies and rewards are game elements without monetary value. Back up important projects yourself as well, for example via export.

Liability

The operator is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. Since Compile Academy is offered free of charge, liability is otherwise excluded as far as the law allows.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change significantly, Compile Academy informs you beforehand in the app or in the inbox. If you don’t agree with a change, you can delete your account at any time.

Law and disputes

German law applies. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country where you live. The operator does not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
